Sounds like a reference to a specifically Muslim divinity, something strange and
alien, rather than the Arabic word for God; suggests incorrectly that the Muslim
God is different from the Christian or Jewish God; overlooks the fact that
Christian and Jewish Arabs also use Allah to refer to God
Creates unwarranted division or separation between Muslims and non-
Muslims; promotes the idea, "They are different from us, they worship someone
